Citrus

Riverland grower John Farrant, has been a client of Bio-Tech Organics for around 20 years now. Initially having problems with yellowing of his orange and mandarin orchard he started out incorporating FF50 Bio-Humate and magnesium to his soils, along with the product Nutri Life 4/20, which quickly turned the trees around. He then went on to a citrus program developed by Nutri-Tech Solutions, which he has religiously stuck with over the many years.

A magnificent crop of mandarins using FF50 Bio-Humate, Calcium Fulvate, Phoslife, Limelife, OF64 Poly Plus, K-silica OF30, Liquid Fish, Tri-Kelp powder & NTS Super soluble humates.

John grows citrus for local and export markets and applies this program to his orange and mandarin trees. With his farm situated in a frost-prone area, John uses plenty of silica in the form of Silico-Sulfonate (OF30) on his trees, along with the ice nucleation inhibiting organism Pseudomonas fluorescens and some Tri-Kelp, to help his trees through the frosty nights of early winter. To date the results have seen little if any frost damage to his citrus crops, with the fruit holding up very well compared to others in the district.

Microbes are used regularly and applied via fertigation, along with some specialty products to help improve production. Foliar applications are made frequently to assist with quality, maintaining good nutrient status in plant tissue for optimum photosynthesis.

Earthworms are more prevalent in the soil whilst the balance of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus levels have improved since he first started with these programs.
